In my ever continuing quest to have fun on the streets, I have been = searching for a copy of the Federal bill that allowed deTomaso to import = his cars to the US back in '68-'69. The Mangusta was granted several exemptions from the safety standards = in effect at the time. I am trying to determine if emissions equipment = was part of it.... Here lies my problem. Have been on the web using a number of search = tools and it seems that the FMV (Federal Motor Vehicle) division has = dissappeared. I searched federal agencies everywhere and libraries galore = with no hits. Nothing even remotely close other than a site that talks = about federally owned and managed vehicles.... Are there any lawyer types out there.... I know you are.... that can = offer a clue as to where I might obtain a copy of FMV 90-283 ??? Online = bill service etc? Phone #'s? I have done this in CA with bills that I = wanted to follow, but I'm going nowhere fast on this one. It had to be authored in the '68 time frame to allow '69 vehicles into = the US. Any help would be appreciated immensly! If it turns out that we = can gain exemption for Mangustas, I'm sure that there are more than a few = owners in CA that would be extremely happy! Regards, Steve
