I'm not that tall, about 1.70, but I also prefer to drive in stocking feet. I can feel the car better and it keeps the expensive rugs in good condition. :) Though I have had one little incident. It was the week before we left for our "little club meeting" in Italy this spring. I visited Mats Gorsky for some final details and it began to rain heavy. So I jumped into my car and took off. After 10 miles I noticed that I was missing my shoes behind the seat... I called Mats and he went out to pick them up. But another car had parked above them! After an hour or two it drove away so he could pick them up. Well cleaned by now. Just before we left I mounted a pair of Recaro LS. The can be found cheap in junk yards in Europe since a few cars has used them as standard or optional equipment. For instance Opel Manta GSI, some Fords and VW Golf/Rabbit GTI. They are of excellent quality so they are easy to work on. I refurnished them as my original seats in black and white leather. Did a little "hacking" on the passenger seat for the bulb. The installation was very easy. Just weld a M8 or 1/4" nut on the inside (I think) of the rails and that's it! If one wants a little more room above the head, it's easy to take away a little of the padding on the seat. That way you've get the same room as with the original seat. They really work great. Me and my friend travelled 2500 miles in two weeks and can really recommend them.
