Capt Mike Drew 150 Westgate Dr. San Francisco, CA 94127 Home: (415) 334-7860 E-mail: MikeLDrew@aol.com Hello all, I just thought I'd share a bit of information I've recently learned involving some additional events surrounding the annual Pantera convention in Las Vegas. The U.S. Air Force is planning on celebrating its 50th year of existence with a series of symposiums, etc. culminating in the largest military air show in U.S. history. This two-day air show will be held at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas the same Friday and Saturday as the POCA event. It promises to be absolutely huge. Eight different countries' aerial demonstration teams will be performing, as well as the Thunderbirds. The ramp should be filled with foreign military aircraft. Also, I've been told that the USAF is attempting to procure at least one flying example of every single aircraft ever to serve in the USAF and its various predecessors. This means that an aerial parade will begin with a 100% faithful replica of the first military Wright Brothers Flyer, and continue right up through the Stealth bomber, and possibly the new YF-22 prototype. Any of you who are aviation buffs and are considering making the trip to Las Vegas now have double the reason to come (as if the Pantera fest wasn't enough!) There's a fairly decent web page with lots of info (although it's only partially completed; it should tell more as the event draws near). Check it out at "www.usaf50thafa.org/50-1.html" for all the details. See you there! Mike Drew
