The most helpful of all has always been Gary Hall--he'll always come to the phone and help. If I lived in California I know all the Pantera shops, especially Gary's would take excellent care of me and at fair prices. The reason for my reply is to ask how you managed to spend an extra $25 to buy Bill VanEss's Pantera registry from Gary Hall? My newest Hall catalog & price list shows the Registry to be $30 and Gary gives you a 5% discount for cash netting it out to $28.50. You would therefore pay a $7.50 premium to buy from Gary--NOT an extra $25. Gary has business expenses that Bill Van Ess doesn't have-Bill clearly does the Registry for the pure love of Panteras. Hall must incur warehousing costs etc. So I think Gary's price is fair! Also Bill's Registry is well noted in most Pantera publications on a regular basis--anyone who "couldda got it cheaper" simply didn't do the research before they bought the item. Sorry--I don't mean to be a critic as such BUT- I am a business professor who teaches purchasing--I learned most of the practicalities of researching before buying as a buyer for Ford Motor Company. Among the lessons I learned in my early days at Ford-30 years ago- is you can always find a better price-BUT the cost of so doing negates any gain-If I spent an hour and found the item for $5 less-it wasn't worth it-the hour of my time and the cost of phone calls was way more than the $5 I saved.
