Greetings, Figured I can't wait for the world reknowned swap meet this summer, to = look for stuff for my Mangusta. This is such a great tool for = communicating.... blah blah blah.... So, here we go. For my puzzle car, it came in several boxes, I need a pa= ir of front turn signal assy's. These are Carello units with the = following numbers in them: Left side: Housing- CARELLO- 11.535.580 Lense- CARELLO SAE R 61 18.535.716 Right: has an 534 instead of 535. If logic holds true, would these have been an assembly used on a 1961 = something-or-other>>???? Most domestic lenses have a date of this sort = on them. The taillight lenses have a 65 or 66 on them which seems about = right since they were also used on Fiat 850's of about that time frame. I have seen nothing in print that gives me any clues as to what other = car used these... DeTomaso wouldn't have created unique parts would he?? = (Unless they were cast out of aluminium or magnesium...) It was rumored = that the Miura used them but I have seen nothing in any pictures that = gives me warm & fuzzies... Besides, even if they did fit, Miuras are = lying in wrecking yards everywhere around here.....aack! So, any help would be appreciated. My last holdout is to actually have = them recast. They are only pot metal, so should not be a huge task if = molds can be fabricated for not too many arms & legs. Lenses would be a = different story. Any suggestions? Anybody in the potmetal business??? My lamps are just barely useable, but it sure would be nice to have a = shiny clean pair to bolt up to the car. Will consider trades... I would = venture that I may have the largest collection of NOS 'Goose parts in the = country.... all 10 or so pieces.... Hah! If not the most, then perhaps = the biggest piece... Last but not least, has anybody had to deal with getting a 'Goose thru = the CA smog system?? My puzzle car is as of yet not moving.... runs, = doesn't move.... and I want to have some ammunition ready when I get = bounced to the referee station... (Have been thru the "Gross Polluter" = hoops so I know the system....) These cars were equipped in who knows = how many ways and the smog guys give you that "deer in the headlight = look" when you say Mangusta.... a what? who made it? Nope, never seen = one..... you'll have to bring it in.... (so's I can flunk ya for them = headers with no heat riser...yep.) I do have a homologation document that I picked up at the factory that = shows great pictures of a hipo 289 with the dual point distributor, and = also some great shots of a well abused Weber manifold, that probably came = off of one of the original concept cars. Great piece of literature, all = in Italian... but who knows how much weight it carries with the BAR.... Enuf rambling... Steve Liebenow '69 Mangusta #878 Boss 302 motivated...aching to roar!
