All, Oh, and I forgot to add; there are two very useful web sites you can check out: http://www.tirerack.com/ has a very comprehensive listing (and prices) of the tyres that they sell. http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi has a tyre-size calculator. This is very useful for calculating tyre diameters and widths, especially if you dont want you car toooo looooowwww. Here is what I calculated for some "common" tyre sizes: Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revolutions Difference --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 225/50-15 4.4" 11.9" 23.9" 75.0" 845/mile 0.0% 285/50-15 5.6" 13.1" 26.2" 82.4" 769/mile 9.9% 305/50-15 6.0" 13.5" 27.0" 84.8" 747/mile 13.2% 345/35-16 4.8" 12.8" 25.5" 80.1" 791/mile 6.9% 345/35-17 4.8" 13.3" 26.5" 83.3" 761/mile 11.1% Yeah, I know, the units are Imperial. And I spell tyre correctly too! Shane Ingate, an Aussie in San Diego
