I am also 6' 0" and also about 245 lbs, but I really have no room = problems in my cat unless I'm wearing a helmet. You may have longer legs = than I if you are having problems fitting in the Pantera, but I thought I = had pretty long legs for my height. Make sure the seat is all the way = back against the firewall. The lowered floorpans will not help with legroom, only with headroom. My Pantera is a very late '74. I added Recaro seats, which do take away = a little room compared to the stock flat seats, but the lost room is more = than made up for in increaed comfort. I do find it helpful to set the = seat back angle fairly upright, allowing as much legroom as possible (the = Recaro's have a back angle adjustment while the stock seats do not). A previous owner of my car was said to be 6' 6", but the only related mod = on my car was the removal of the left upper edge of the center console = (between the console and steering column) to add more knee room (not a = problem for me though). I did have to learn to rest my left leg under the clutch pedal for longer = trips. But I have had my Pantera more than 10 years now, so I don't = remember if I might have had other room complaints when I first got it. Any complaints with a Pantera soon go away with the widening grin 8<) . Craig Cline #7352 Oceanside, CA (near San Diego) -------------------------------------- Date: 2/13/97 3:15 PM To: DeTomaso List From: Bruce D. Brumm I am currently in the market for a Pantera (71-74), clean, rust-free, = orig. Campagnollo wheels, etc. I want one BADLY! Fortunately, my wife wants one just as badly. Now, if I just had the money laying around somewhere..... My question is this: How big (height/weight) is the average Pantera = driver? I just don't seem to fit into one!! I fit into a Lotus Turbo Esprit, Ferrari 308, etc. Can = seats be repositioned or pedals adjusted to accommodate larger people? I knew/know a Pantera = owner who was about 6'6" who lowered his floor pan a couple of inches (he also raced) to = accommodate his size. I am 6' 0" tall (~245 lb.) I'm not obese by any means; just big. Leg = room is the big problem here. Suggestions anyone? I could stand to lose 20 pounds, but that's not the = issue here. OK?! :) Any and all input welcome!
