Nobbie, Congratulations on your purchase. I see you've jumped in with both feet and are loving every minute. I agree with your choice of looking into the Bel radar detector. I have the Bel 945i cordless and it works great! I choose that model since it was the best of the cordless choices. I didn't want a cord hanging down the window, dash, shifter, etc. The alkaline batteries last about 60 hours and even turns it self off after about a 1/2 hour if you forget. If you want some other choices look at the April '97 Car & Driver which did an article on the best cord type radar detectors. The Valentine One came in first place with the Bel 855STi in second. Stay tuned for the May '97 issue which is suppose to test the cordless models. Don't leave home without it. It's not worth it, our insurance is high enough!
