Use an Eddlebrock carb for street driving.  If you are using the Eddlebrock

performer intake, then do not use the port plates.  The intake is designed

to work without them.  The best my car ever ran was with a Performer intake

and a Carter carb from a 440 Dodge.  It would go from 45 to 95 in 300 feet.
