Capt Mike Drew 150 Westgate Dr. San Francisco, CA 94127 Home/FAX: (415) 334-7860 E-mail: MikeLDrew@aol.com All, I'm in the midst of trying to convert my early-style interior to a late-style (later L-model) interior, and found out a bit about legroom. Not only are the dashboards different, but both the front and center consoles are completely different too. The later-model console is contoured differently, and actually allows less legroom. This is all very hard to describe in words, but the panel with the four instruments, window and headlight switches, etc. is shaped very roughly like a human hand, with the fingers pointed down and the thumb pointed at the ignition switch. Are you with me so far? I just discovered that the 'web' of this piece, i.e. the curved section between the 'thumb' and 'fingers' is about an inch lower on the later console. I placed a borrowed late console in the car, then tried to fit my early gauge/switch plate in place, and found there was all sorts of extra console sticking out below. It's amazing how much there still is to learn about these cars, even after 10 years of hard-core Pantera geekery! Anyway, all other things being equal, Big People might be happier in an early car, or at least with the early-style interior. And, if there are any Big People (or little people for that matter) who would like to sell me a later-style front and center console and gauge plate, why, I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands. I'd also be happy to offer my great-condition early pieces as a partial trade. Lemme know directly at MikeLDrew@aol.com. Thanks! BTW, I called Kent Snyder in a panic when the question of room availability was raised. Kent says that he still has PLENTY of rooms available for the POCA event. The rest of the town is booked solid because of the air show, but the Union Plaza still has a bunch of rooms for us. He'll have to give them some unused rooms back at the end of the month, though, so send those checks in now! Mike
