I just got a letter from Quentin Kopp.  It is a copy of a letter he

received from the Air Resources Board (ARB).



The Air Resources Board is opposed to SB 42 because they feel that the

exemption of vehicles over 25 years of age would result in an 3 ton/ day

increase in smog forming air pollution.  The ARB urges a change from 25

rolling exemption to 30 year old rolling exemption.



I would like to see the actual figures he bases his 3 tons/day on but I

personally could live with a 30 year rolling thing. However, you might want

to write a letter to your state representative and mention support for SB42

in either one of these versions.



BTW, there was a "Workshop" held today at ARB HQ where they invited

enthusiasts to attend and place questions on the "scrappage" laws, etc.

Anyone know how it went?
