The voltage regulator is on the firewall in the engine compartment next to the coil on the pass side of car. You can lay across the valve cover on the pass side to get to it or sometimes it is easyer to take the pass rear wheel off and take the stone guard off to get to it and the wiring harness. I would look for a corroded tetminal at the regulator. If there is a momentary loss of alternator field power it can set off the light. The regulator provides power to the light if alternator output is low. Kent Collectors choice # 2339
