Greetings to all Pantera lovers This info is to help keep the rust away from those luscious machines. There is a product I have come in contact with called "Rust-No-More. I am very impressed with some simple testing on plain steel. And I have spent a good part of my career dealing with corrosion of materials. It does work as they state it does, reduces oxidation on all types of metal. Here are the properties listed. Easy to apply (brush or spray) Abrasive resistant Used on old or new metal (clean or oxidized) Can be painted over Interior or exterior applications Non-tacky Does not change color Long shelf life Bonds to rusted metals Long lasting Fast drying This has the consistency and smell of kerosene, but I am sure it is not. It dries as if there is not anything there, leaving little or no obvious traces behind. You can buy it in a 10 oz spray bottle for around $7.00, or a stronger version is $65.00/qt. The company is.... Miracle Sealants & Abrasives 12806 Schabarum Av. Bldg A Irwindale, Ca. 91706 800-350-1901 IMHO, try it. If I had a Pantera, I would. Hopefully next year I will fulfill my desire. Problem is that in a couple of months, the nuts-bolts-washers etc have developed a fine layer of oxidation (rust) on them. Mostly this is due to the fact that I fixed the engine ventilation snafu that was causing it to do the "Valdez" to everything in the engine compartment.... aack! Now things don't have that fine coat of motor oil any longer to keep them dirty and rust free. Other than replacement with stainless components, new components, or paint, what have you found, that works(!), for protecting freshly cleaned (wire wheeled) pieces from this? Long term?? Thanks, Steve ----- End Included Message ----- *****************************************************************************
