Take a couple of plugs out and inspect them. If they are black then the misfire is caused by a rich mixture and you should be getting bad mileage. If they are very white, then you are lean (what I expect) and you will be getting fairly good mileage. You could probably just open up the idle mixture screws by about 1/2 turn adn it will work OK.
