All, Here's another reply that got sent to me directly instead of to The List. Mike --------------------- Forwarded message: Subj: Re: Meriha fans Date: 97-04-15 19:58:03 EDT From: JDeRyke To: MikeLDrew A few thoughts on fans: the stockers blow about 300 cfm apiece (as checked with two different anemometers). This is totally inadequate; you need at least 900 cfm from each when you're caught in traffic with a hot motor. Use any that fit and give at least 900 cfm. Second: one member recently had his dual-super-charged Pantera overheat at idle with big aftermarket fans mounted. He finally found the fans wired correctly but one blade was on backwards! Note that DC fan motors can rotate either direction; a single fan should suck hard enough against the grille to pick up and hold a sheet of notebook paper. For the new guys: rumor has it that the stock fan motors are Jaguar windshield wiper motors, and were'nt really intended for all-day duty. J DeRyke
