How much power d'you want? Remember that Nor-Cal Pantera's own crazy-man, Junior Wilson ran a 572" all-aluminum Alan Root Boss 429 in several Panteras for Silver-State racing, with just under 900 hp and enough torque to rotate the Earth backward when he side-stepped the clutch (which he did regularly). This enormous motor stuck into the passenger area several more inches, but still left room for Jr, his navigator, a full roll cage and a fire system. There were 10 or 12- 427 and 460 Panteras built by Mike Cook of So-Cal 10 or so years ago. Measure a Cleveland engine for length & width and check some current motors. Anything's possible- I've seen a Jag V12-powered Corvair, and have a picture of a 427SOHC-powered Triumph TR-5, both at street events. J DeRyke
