Jim, In my expert opinion, your engine problem is obvious. Your car, s'broke. You San Diego guys really haven't quite got a grip on this whole Las Vegas thing, have you? Up here in Northern California, our club ran not one but two all-day clinics to diagnose and fix possible problems, and it looks like we're going to have about 15-20 Panteras making the drive this year. On the other hand, acting alone and independantly of one another, you managed to break your otherwise fine-running automobile just a few days before The Big Event. I just spoke with my very good buddy and San Diego Panteras president Bill Hohnhorst, who won't mind when I call him a knucklehead in this public forum. He had once asked me if I thought he should change his putrid fuel lines, and I said, "well, they're braided steel, but they're OLD braided steel, so, YES!" He elected to ignore me (not unusual for Bill), and today, decided to start his Pantera after letting it sit and rot for literally months. After some struggling and spritzing with starting fluid, he got it lit, hopped out of the car to re-install his air cleaner, and saw gasoline squirting all over the place from his now-dry-rotted-and-eaten-by-the-bad-gas fuel lines. He COULD take a few moments to change them out (perhaps a 45 minute job, tops) but NOOOO, instead he's wimping out and driving his freaking Mazda to Vegas this year. As for me, well, my Pantera isn't ready yet, so I'm either making the 600 mile trip on a motorcycle, or bumming a ride in a fellow club member's Pantera. Regardless, I'll be there! Mike
