Also, since I've never been to one of these, can someone give me a quick breakdown of the events? I sincerely appreciate it. Thank you, Asa Jay 1) Kent Snyder is The Man who puts this event together for POCA. He still has lots of rooms available, but you have to order them through POCA. If you're not a POCA member and don't have a form in front of you (which I presume you don't), you can simply phone him and take care of everything over the phone. POCA is set up to take payment in VISA/MC. Cost of the event for Thursday arrival is $200 (for 2 people), Friday arrival is $175. There's a $25 additional charge for non-POCA members, bringing it up to $225 and $200, respectively. Here's a hint, you can join POCA at the same time you're signing up for the event, and get the discount. (Foot stomp twice) Call Kent at home tonight: (818) 966-0890. 2) Sequence of events: Thursday: Hospitality suite opens mid-day, lots of socializing etc. the remainder of the day (there's a full open bar for the full duration of the event, with all the booze and soft drinks you can guzzle, plus munchies, even donuts and coffee on Sunday morning) Friday: Track event normally runs all day, this year it got cancelled when the track management pulled the rug out from under us. So, instead, in the morning there's a group drive up to the Mt. Charleston lodge, a beautiful resort high in the mountains overlooking the valley in which Las Vegas resides. 45 miles or so (maybe less) climbing several thousand feet into the forest, where everyone has a nice brunch. Also, on Friday afternoon, there's going to be a group drive through a beautiful canyon (Red Rock?), it's a state park or something, the sunset is supposed to be spectacular. Wonderful road, way too many cops nowadays. I've seen video taken 10 years or so ago, from a Pantera blasting through this 30-40 mph road at 125 or so. One year the whole club did this, and the cops kindly invited us to never set foot there again! Friday night is left open. Saturday morning, a second Mt Charleston run. Also, there's a concours on Fremont street. Saturday afternoon, there's a tech session, where a panel of experts field questions from the crowd. Saturday night is the banquet (also included with the price of the event), awards, etc. All the chapter stores are selling merchandise the whole time, lots of socializing and telling of lies, er, stories in the hospitality suite, and 200+ Panteras in the parking lot, which makes for lots of idea-gathering walks, etc. Also, don't forget that the reason the track event was cancelled is the USAF is throwing the largest military air show in U.S. history right there at Nellis AFB on the edge of the city. So if you're into aviation, there's going to be one terrific airshow, certainly worth spending some time there. Finally, Shane has proposed a meeting of e-mail forum members at some point, just so we can put faces to these names we've been reading for so long. See you there! Mike
