All, I'm going to look real stupid for this; I guess I spend too much time behind a keyboard. 1) Having followed the great thread on adjusting the free-play on the clutch slave cylinder, the clutch takeup position of the clutch pedal is not in the center of the pedal travel (actually its near the end of the pedal travel); how can I adjust this? 2) I have a 1972 with the early dash, and I want to remove the wiper push/pull switch so that I can get to the wiring behind the dash. I've tried pulling the switch, but its stuck. I'm reluctant to really pull on the switch in case it is not a simple push fitting. Ideas? 3) I want to us ethe nifty K&N breathers that we see so often on the valve covers. However, I have the cheap and cheerful black-crinkle "DeTomaso" valve covers, which have additional tongues-holes in the round breather holes. The K&N filters I've found wont cover these tongue-holes. Any ideas. Further, is it possible to bead-blast the crinkle finish and then have the covers polished? As for Nobbies question on washing the car, I tried it once too and got water in my detailed engine compartment. Whattapain. I've never washed it since, preferring a magnetic duster and McGuires waterless car wash (I still use a hose for the lower body work). When not in use or being worked on, the car lives under a Evolution 4 car cover in a garage. Which raises another question, after several weeks, the Evo 4 covere leaves greasy marks on the car. Anyone else seen this? Any better ideas for keeping the car clean out there? Shane Ingate, back to work, in San Diego
