Hi Don,

Well as luck would have it I stumbled across a web page the other day

the might be of help: www.nps.gov/parks.html . This address will give you

some phone numbers to call to make on ground reservations and general info. I

believe that the North side is closed this time of year but the view is just

as spectacular on the South side. When I went up in the Summer I was able to

get a room at a roadside motel without any hitches but I may have just been

lucky. - Dave Lee
