Steve, we had a pretty good Tech Session at Las Vegas, and touched on the subject of airflow and the Pantera body. It seems generally accepted that the function of the rear window hole in the deck is to exhaust air from out of the underside of the car, not to suck cool air into the carb. I blew an oil filter clean off the block once (long story), and I was told there was a contrail 50 feet long of oil mist out of the rear window area! Further, the boundary air at the rear side window is estimated to be several inches thick (maybe as much as a foot) so any "scoop" positioned there should stick out significantly, or it'll be useless. The scooped air will then need to be ducted via a flex-hose or something, to direct it very close to where you want it to go, or it'll just reverse and go back out over the deck. That boundary area is such that complete removal of the rear side windows does nothing to spoil the airflow along the body. Mine are out so I can more easily clean the rear window glass (and lose 6lbs of weight) J DeRyke
