One correction to the FPP telephone number mentioned below. Please use 562 instead of the 310 prefix. Since the move mentioned by Steve, it seems to have changed. My previous info should be correct. Thank you & have a nice day. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Ford Power Parts and such Author: "Steve Liebenow" <steve.liebenow@eur.ericsson.com> at ccmail Date: 5/1/97 9:38 AM Jack mentioned Ford Power Parts (FPP) in one of his blurbs, but had a few things bassackwards... I was just down at FPP the week before 'Vegas, attending the huge Ford show that Jack mentioned. Fabulous Fords Forever's 12th show happened this year sponsored by the Ford Car Club Council- Western Region. This is quite THE event to attend if you are a die hard BLUE blooded Ford fan. (I still don't understand how they let those guys in with the small block Chevies in their rods..... aaack!) Anyway, there is literally everything from A to Z in attendance.... Model A to Lincoln Zephyr, and everything in between. Mustangs are thick as flys on a discarded piece of watermelon.... this year it seemed to be the new GT's and Cobras with every new blower kit on the market... Not so many Shelbys as in the past. There were some P cars and even two Mangustas present, although not as many DeTomasos as is usually present. (Probably getting ready for Vegas!) There were no GT 40's this year...boo hoo. They really are neat to drool on... Gobs of Cobras. Over 100 Cougars this year..30th anniversary! Lots of 390 hipo, 406 tri power, 427 Galaxies around! The occasional Fairlane 427. Race cars.... Dyno Don Nicholson was there last year with his replica 64ish Fairlane(?) 460 racer. Anyway, it is quite the event. Lots of good ideas and lots of cubic inches.... FPP is still there, run by Ron Miller still runs the place. However, he just revamped the place slightly in a "downsizing move." The showroom has been eliminated. You could previously stroll around touching bits and pieces for every hipo thing that Ford ever made or in some cases didn't! (Lots of Xperimental stuff shows up here!! Like aluminum 427 stuff with "X" in the casting part numbers..... SO, no longer can you do this... He has effectively reduced the business to phone sales. His Cleveland selection is limited, so it's probably a good idea to call about bits anyway. Addresss: 14504 S Carmenita #C, Norwalk, CA 90650 310-921-5300 Just north of I-5 at Carmenita, just two exits north of Knott's Berry Farm, Beach Blvd, not far from Disneyland..... FPP has an annual show, but much smaller than the Fabulous Fords thing. This year they had some great entertainment. Jay Leno showed up in his Cobra, and later some testosterone crazed idiot fired up his Cobra and was doing the burnout thing, only to actually hook up(!) and plant his kit car firmly between a tree and a building! Picture the nose of the car wrapped around a 12" tree, and the rear wheel, peeled of it's rubber wrapper, wedged about 6 inches down the side of the building, displacing the tire and any fiberglass that used to be the rear fender. (Didn't appear to damage the Halibrand KO wheel!) There is usually a couple of Pantera's there and one Mangusta. A smattering of other goodies that Ron has helped down the road/track/lake! Lots of cubic inch stuff like the SOHC 427's, Boss 429's, plus prototype stuff too... lots of Holman Moody goodies! For 351C's, he has an aluminum dual plane, similar to the Boss 351 piece, only better... standard Holley flange, another that is the same as above only with welded heat riser, plus one more intake with the Dominator pattern on it. (not sure if it is dual or single plane.) He occasionally has Aussie 2V heads for sale that will work with the B&A intake with 2V port sizes. Also he has port plates for intake and exhaust, for use with cast iron heads. Not much more... his love is FE's. So, now ya know! Steve --excess inventory-- 69 428CJ 4spd Cougar Eliminator 80 HD Sturgis motorcycle or perhaps you'd prefer a 79 Superglide instead.... I can't make up my mind.... wife sez keep 'em both! What troubles......
