That is, there's no build tag like most cars have that shows the original color. I would say that John Wehrheim's car is Aqua Green Metallic, but that's just a guess. Kent, care to upload and e-mail me a photo of your Lime car? I don't know what the difference is between the four different silver hues, but they all carry different paint codes. The '71 White and Yellow also carry different codes from the '72-'74 colors, and are therefore presumably different. Interestingly, the 1971 colors are supported by seven different paint manufacturers, while the '72-'74 codes are only supported by four, with two of those not being in the '71 list. The GTS Silver is a two-stage paint; it lists both a silver and a clear top-coat. Finally, the GTS black is only to paint the hood, decklid and rocker panels. Apparently no '71-'74 Panteras were factory-painted black overall. I don't exactly remember if this jives with the data from the orange Ford parts book, but I tend to believe this data much more firmly. The book also states that paint codes for cars after #7380 are available from the factory. Yeah, right. Good luck with THAT! Mike Drew
