Charlie, I have changed my transaxle oil many, many times and used lots of different brands of oil. One thing I do remember about synthetic oils in the ZF transaxle is they make it leak like a sieve. I have heard from Pantera parts vendors that the ZF seals to not take kindly to Synthetic oils. I have used 90W140 in my transaxle for nearly 30,000 miles worth of oil changes and it still shifts fantastic. For what it's worth i'm not sure it is worth the extra expense to use synthetic oils just so it can make your garage floor slick. I do not have they same troubles when using standard oil in the ZF.
