If you're getting 'intermittant' grinding going into any gear, your setup is either out of adjustment, or too much metal has been ground off the tranny synchros. Look under the dashboard, especially the compound linkage for the factory "force-reduction". I found the links and pins badly worn, allowing as much as an inch of pedal movement before the clutch slave pushrod actually twitched. There are a couple of pedal limiters that can be adjusted down there, but if all else fails, you'll be forced to buy a new long-travel clutch slave cylinder (Pantera Parts Connection in Mt View has them, and maybe others). .025" should be barely enough air gap, unless you're snap-shifting. Panteras are crummy drag-racers. We also run into this when the gearshift linkage is not centered in the shift gate- check your TSPs for centering things up very carefully. Good luck. J DeRyke
