The only one I've ever seen was the color of the limes that get impaled on marguerita glasses around here in Texas ... a vivid, tropical, mid-green that IMO looked terrific. >>>I'm reaching back into the dark, dim recesses of my memory here, as I don't have any DeTomaso materials available. From what I recall in reading the first few pages of the factory parts book (the good one, with the red GT5-S on the cover), there were perhaps a dozen colors available on the 1971 cars, including no less than three shades of green, called Sea Foam Green, Medium Green, and, uh, Some Other Green. The thing is, there's no color chips in the book, so there's no way for a layman like us to look at a particular car and identify WHICH particular green is in use. John's car is a beautiful light green, almost turquoise. I've got a photo of it somewhere; maybe when I get home I can scan it in as a JPEG so we can all see what we're talking about. Ford streamlined things for 1972, and only Yellow, Tomato Red (yech), White, Orange, Sky Blue and British Racing Green (double-yech) were available. Not black, I don't think. Somebody wanna grab the book and back me up here with some solid facts? I'm flailing a bit. Come to think of it, I've never seen an Orange Pre-L. Could that have been added in late '72? >On another note, this group has been real useful in helping me understand the types of problems Pantera owners face but there's been a shortage of stories about great driving experiences, etc. Surely y'all don't let your cars sit around in the garage all the time while you wax and polish ... >>>Despite my relatively few hours of Pantera seat time (since I purchased my car in Oct '89, stopped driving it in December that same year except for a couple of quick drives (each of them extremely dramatic), then shipped it off to Vermont for restoration in Oct '90, I've still got my fair share of tales to tell, because the decrepit condition of my car was very conducive to animated story generation. Unfortunately, I'm busy at work trying to finish the quarterly before going back to Hawaii again (third time in four weeks, what a suck job!) so they will have to wait for another day.
