Reply to: RE>>Oil pans- Hamburgers I have a Hamburger pan on my 'Goose, but have an unending leak to deal = with. These are thiiiiiin pans! I believe that the previous owner = actually may have tried to raise the car by the pan.... or at least starte= d to, and may have cracked a weld or two. I tried the old JB Weld trick , but still missed the leak. There are = some stiffening (hah!) straps on the bottom that deny access to the seam = and I think this is where it is coming from. One of these days, I'll = drop the thing and have it re-mig'd.... not high on the list as the car = is holding the garage floor from levitating...... Steve -------------------------------------- Date: 6/5/97 8:04 To: Steve Liebenow From: Weldon Brown Hello To ALL. On the subject of oil pans. If you want a light oil pan, Hamburger oil pans makes a nice one, yes they make drag racing pans but they do make one just for the Pantera with a center sump and a pickup to go with it. Its not a cheap pan around $650 to $700. Its made out of aluminum and is clearanced for the shift rod. Its a nice piece and not a Drag Race pan. Pantera Performance in Colorado has used them. Infact It may be their design, with help from Hamburger Pans. IT also has a fitting in the pan for an oil temp sending unit. I have put a couple of these pans on and they work great.
