Guys, One area of concern about orig rear mounts. Butfoy said one of the reasons my trans failed, was jumping out of reverse, was because someone had put 1 or 2 of the rear mount studs in reversed/backwards. If you are not familiar with them, they are hexagon in shape with a threaded stud at each end. Problem is the 'studed' ends are of different length. They can be screwed in using either end, but the longer studed end will interfere with the internal shifter resulting in incomplete ingage- ment of reverse which will end up causing the trbl I had. So take note of the different lengths when disassembling the orig rear mount. I don't use it so the shop simply put in studs capped off with a nut. Butfoy said reversing these is a fairly common thing and he said he sees this happening alot with failed trans. Rick in Ca. Don't be a DPO ! ==============================================================================
