Charlie, There was an article in the PI magazine I wrote sometime about 18 months ago that gave hints on getting the trans out. I'm getting ready to pull motor. Trans comes out by itself just for clutch job. Use engine hoist to liftr it out. These can be rented. no need to remove rear deck lid. Unbolt AC condenser/fan and lay it off to side so you don't have to release AC freon. No need to disconnect lines. Engine/trans must be lifted in rear some (tlited) after removing the rear trans bolts. Engine mount bolts in front should be loosened to tilt. It will be difficult to pry the trans loose from engine. Be persistent. Installing is harder than removing! Have to cut this session short....thunderstorm coming.....need to unplug.
