Okay, so the CARB agrees with the Senators number of vehicles, now I just want to know how they figure this 3 ton per day increase in emissions? Is there some sort of assumption these vehicles are NOT being driven currently? but WOULD BE if the bill were passed? I mean come on now. These cars are currently being inspected and there is a known baseline. Does CARB actually expect the emissions to grow that much that rapidly just because they are not inspected anymore? Is there some magic part on these cars that KNOWS it's being exempted and starts polluting more? Incidentally, I talked with one of our representative yesterday about SB42, and he hadn't heard about it. He did comment however that Washington would probably never even introduce a bill like that. It seems the evironmentalists run the place and a bill like that would be dead before it hit the door. I would like to see more information about current studies on Oxygenated fuel.
