I saw the article, too and thought the results were not too hot for such a fancy and unreliable stroker motor (.723" lift, can you say valvetrain torture, valve spring mambo). I have no comparison data, but my mild (.550" lift) hydrailic cammed, stock displacement 351C, 4BBL quench heads, Edelbrock Torker 351, and port plates makes 420 hp at 6100 rpm and 370 ft-lbs torque at 4500 rpm. I'll give up the 50-80 hp for reliability and much lower cost. I gave up on cams over .600" lift for the street years ago. Not quite th high-rpm rush, but I now drive the car nearly as much as I work on it, and it still pulls respectably on the track.
