Loved your post.  Ok... so what we really need to even consider the merits of a 

bypass filtration system (besides a personal test) is someone on the 'net 

(engineer type) who can speak with authority on just how small a particle can 

be and still do damage to the bearings and other surfaces.



How fine is the standard paper filter?  Nominally 50 microns?



Are the Amsoil claims of 60% of engine wear comes from particles smaller than 

25 microns accurate?



If the answer to the second question is YES, then I would be willing to try one 

of these gadgets and have the oil tested before and after the bypass filter was 

added.
