BTY, there is a blue silicon hose available, > expensive but is guaranteed forever, which on a Pantera may not be such a > liability. I have the blue silicone severe duty hoses on my Mustang. They are the hoses that were available on the police version of the Mustang. My hoses were 10 years old and I was facing the 2000 mile drive to California so I decided to replace them. The blue silicone hoses were supposed to be lifetime hoses but I bought them mainly because they were light blue and contrasted nicely with my car's exterior color (dark blue). I have been told that these hoses are, in reality, no better than the black Ford OEM hoses. Ford apparently made them optional on their severe duty (police and taxi) vehicles only because GM did so on their police cars. The silicone hoses were supplied with special linered hose clamps (not slotted like typical hose clamps, just a continuous band with slots only at the end). This is because silicone hoses are more susceptible to cuts than normal hoses. Supposedly some NAPA stores carry these clamps. The hoses I took off the car were 10 years old and looked new. I really didn't need to replace them but it did give me peace of mind. Later, Dan Jones ==============================================================================
