When all else fails, think of this- a Nor-Cal member had exactly the same problem. We eventually found two problems. -1- he was running 44 degrees of advance total; 38 is the absolute max any 351C needs or wants. -2- the solder joints on his radiator cooling fins had de-bonded from smog or exhaust fumes. Run a pencil eraser across the front of the radiator; if gray dust flies out, your fins have debonded and you need a new radiator. By the way, be like the President- don't inhale. That dust is lead oxide! This is also a possibility for air conditioners that just won't cool. Check the rear condenser the same way. Good luck-J DeRyke ==============================================================================
