Something that is water proof.  I use a teflon based grease and have had 6

years of driving in the rain and no problem with only greasing once in 6

years. You could also use the wheel bearing grease (blue) that is made for

boat trailers.  It is good grease.  The main thing is it must be waterproof

and probably not too heavy.
