When you get your mean machine back, let me know what the difference between a Centerforce clutch and the stock one amounts to. One of my winter projects will be to replace the clutch in mine. The clutch was replaced in 1982, but only 6,000 miles put on it since then (mostly my miles, since I bought it this spring) and it starts to slightly slip under hard acceleration. Charlie, I've only driven the car about 1500 miles since I got it in March of this year. Even though I drive it every day, I only live 6 miles from work. Plus I went on vacation for two weeks, it's been at the Mike Cook's place for three weeks, and on most weekends, I drive around with the wife and kids in the minivan. So that works out to 5 months of ownership, with 5 weeks down time, and no driving on most weekends. That's approximately 75 days I've driven at an average of 20 miles a day, mostly surface streets. It had worked well most of that time. I think the slave cylinder was a bigger culprit than the clutch. I have no idea how old the clutch is. It was looking pretty thin, so I told Mike to just change it. I've heard good things about the Centerforce. Mike assures me that it will reduce pedal effort. I'll know in a day or so. One question, just exactly what does a slipping clutch feel like? Nobbie #3766 ==============================================================================
