Jack, It is definitely the wrist pins. I know this because after the engine wouldn't turn more than 2 degrees EITHER way. I pulled the engine out. Tore it down, slowly checking for a cam problem vs. a bottom end problem. Then loosening each main bearing end cap and checking the rotation. Then removing each rod end cap and checking. At this point it still wouldn't turn. Each piston moved a little bit. So I pulled the pistons out one by one. A few didn't move easily in the bore. But as I pulled the first one out, the piston didn't move freely on the wrist pin. It took a significant amount of effort. I eventually found 3 pistons that have a seized wrist pin. So in light of this information, my question still stands, oversize wrist pins, which might be difficult down the line (at the next rebuild 10 year from now) or new pistons? I am leaning toward new forged pistons. Thanks, Paul #9270 ==============================================================================
