Personally I felt that the Adler's statement regarding the centerforce clutch was more of a jab at the mechanic/vendor, rather than a jab at the clutch itself..........Too bad. I've heard mostly "good" things about the centerforce clutch itself in many applications. As was mentioned, depends on the driver/application methinks. FWIW. And you most likely will not run your engine over 6000 without further mods. 2) I've run one in my car for 3 years now (and it was put there by the previous owner) and have had no problems. I really like it too (the clutch and car!). My engine puts out darn near if not over just 400 HP (at the flywheel). And, I do use it hard, right up to 6000+ rpms quite often (I love to romp it alot! 0-60 in 4.6!). So, I'm right on that border Dave talked about. This was news to me, and it may be worth getting a few more opinions. But I've atleast provided one positive. And I'd like to hear of someone that has run one for sometime at HP over 400 and 7000 rpms. Anyone? Curt T. 1TO9 MPG and using that clutch! ---------- From: Nobbie Sent: Friday, August 08, 1997 3:08 AM To: detomaso@wgate.com Subject: RE: Centerforce clutches DISSED! I recently had one installed by a "Pantera shop" that should have known better that these clutches are not as bullet proof as one might think. We had a clutch failure on the relatively new unit. ..We now are very bitter with the Centerforce.... Oh MAN!! Did I do something bad? Should I not have had Mike Cook slap a Centerforce in? What's this McLeod thing Dave's talking about? Jack? Mike? Any thoughts? Should I call Mike Cook before I take delivery and have him swap the Centerforce out for one of these McLeods? I don't race the "P" but I do like to romp on it from time to time. Did I make a mistake? Nobbie #3766 ==============================================================================
