Mike could of left something loose or it could be jsut that he was nice

enough to lubricate it for you and now it just works so easy that it feels

like it is loose.

It is the car being jacked up for extended time that makes it do this.  I

have no idea why, but my car will do that when jacked up for extended time.

It will ride about 3/4 inch high for several days and then back to normal.  ???

Clutches should not have to break in.  It could be grease on the exhaust

burning off from where it was touched or worked on.  Otherwise you should

not smell anything!!!
