If so, I was thinking it might be a good deal to purchase some stock now, right before Monterey, and see what happens. Anybody know anything? >>>From what I understand, DeTomaso Industries is a U.S. holding company (vestiges of the old Rowan connection?) which actually owns a sizeable percentage of DeTomaso's holdings. Italian tax laws are extremely harsh, so to get around them, they created a U.S. company and transferred ownership here. I wouldn't necessarily get all excited about DeTomaso stock because of Monterey (although what do I know about money? NOTHING!) The automotive portion of DeTomaso is actually rather small; he owns all sorts of other businesses (hotels, restaurants, various manufacturing businesses, etc.) I don't know if the car company falls under the U.S. holding company or is still an Italian outfit. Invest in DTOM and you might just be buying into a widget maker instead of a car maker! Some people think DeTomaso (the car company) is on the verge of a great comeback, while others feel it's teetering on the brink of total destruction, and sure to fall upon the death of the patriarch. We'll just have to wait and see... Mike ==============================================================================
