-> I would think -> if Pantera steering racks were plentiful in U.S. junkyards that we'd -> all have heard about it by now. I agree. Surely someone would have noticed while they were pirating the turn signal switch from some hapless Capri. <grin> -> Actually, David, a question: I've seen the later-style Capri turn -> signal switches, with their flash-to-pass switch, and always wondered -> if they could somehow be adapted to the Pantera, say, to flash -> driving lights or something. Your thoughts? It's been a few years since I've had two side by side, so that'll be an honest "I don't know." The stalk is the same. The later switch has a big aluminum bracket that supports the steering column trim, which the early Capris didn't use. They had a tapped hole and a bracket for a much smaller plastic switch cover. The simplest thing might be to cruise the junkyards and look. Capris are fairly rare now, but the local U-Pull-It had two '74s and a '71 a few months ago. Flash-to-pass was easy to implement because the '73 and up Capris used a relay to wire the headlamps in with the ignition. I always thought that was a nice idea. Hmm. The ignition thing might've been a result of the flash-to-pass. I never thought of it that way. ====dave.williams@chaos.lrk.ar.us========================DoD#978======= can you help me...help me get out of this place?...slow sedation... ain't my style, ain't my pace...giving me a number...NINE, SEVEN, EIGHT ==5.0 RX7 -> Tyrannosaurus RX! == SAE '82 == Denizens of Doom M/C '92== ==============================================================================
