Andy, Officially, I turned a best time of 13.64 at 101.7 mph at the Great Bend, KS Shelby Owners of America event in 1987. That's the event with the twin turbo Ferrari 308 that you see on my web page. (I still have the slips with the times on them to prove it. :-)) ) That's with hydraulic lifters and a mostly stock engine with a 700 Holley which started running out of steam at around 5600 rpm. It would rev to 6000, but nothing much was really happening....... Soon after that, I had Pantera Performance do some mods to install a solid lifter cam. 7000 rpm is what Kip at PP recommended as the maximum (I've got a two bolt main block) and I've gone to 7500 several times and 7800 once on the street with a nitrous Z28 beside me.... You know how it is when you get excited..., right? ;-) I've got 30,000 miles on the engine and it does need a valve guide rebuild (I got it pretty hot up at Aspen at the CECA event a few years ago), which you can see in a puff of blue smoke when I start it hot, but otherwise it still runs pretty good. I'm guessing I can now run 13.3 or so, but I have no idea about the trap speed. Guess I need to get out there again at the next 'Fun Ford Weekend' and see what it'll do.....
