RE>Alternative to ZF's 9/3/97 FYI, There was a Muttangs and Fords write up a couple years back (95?) that = featured two GT-40 cars (kits or continuation..) that were at Fabulous = Fords that same year. There was a red one and a blue one. One had the ZF in it and the other had, I believe, the Audi setup.... = don't trust my grey matter tho.... It was very clean and amazingly = similar to the ZF setup. I didn't notice it on the cars at the time.... = I think my drool glands were affecting my vision... If anyone has the back issues to look it up.....??? mine are all = archived... Would be a much cleaner solution than the Oldsmobile = abomination! Too wide ? The T475 rig has the torque convertor bolted to the back of the motor, an enormous chain, the transmission snuggled up on the driver's side of the block, and the differential down by the oil pan, with the right halfshaft running under the motor. The engine sits high the the halfshafts come out ahead of the centerline of the engine. At a SWAG, I'd say it'd move the engine a foot back and half a foot up from where the ZF puts it. That's getting pretty radical. The Audi and Renault transaxles are arranged pretty much like the ZF; the issues are just adaptors and linkage. There are a few Porsche transaxles that would work, but Porsche stuff tends to be hideously expensive. =3D=3D=3D=3Ddave.williams@chaos.lrk.ar.us=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3DDoD#978=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D can you help me...help me get out of this place?...slow sedation... ain't my style, ain't my pace...giving me a number...NINE, SEVEN, EIGHT =3D=3D5.0 RX7 -> Tyrannosaurus RX! =3D=3D SAE '82 =3D=3D Denizens of Doom = M/C '92=3D=3D ------------------ RFC822 Header Follows ------------------ Received: by unixlink with SMTP;3 Sep 1997 10:40:31 -0800 Received: from penguin.wise.edt.ericsson.se by eur.ericsson.se = (8.6.12/EUR-Dublin) id KAA28513; Wed, 3 Sep 1997 10:41:24 -0700 Received: from tvol-gw.tvol.com (majordom@tvol-gw.tvol.com = [38.219.83.62]) by penguin.wise.edt.ericsson.se = (8.7.5/8.7.3/glacier-1.12) with SMTP id TAA16589; Wed, 3 Sep 1997 = 19:39:57 +0200 (MET DST) Received: (from majordom@localhost) by tvol-gw.tvol.com (8.6.12/8.6.12) = id LAA17134 for detomaso-outgoing; Wed, 3 Sep 1997 11:39:11 -0400 Received: from hj.tvol.com (hj.tvol.com [38.219.83.2]) by = tvol-gw.tvol.com (8.6.12/8.6.12) with ESMTP id LAA17130 for = <detomaso@tvol-gw.tvol.com>; Wed, 3 Sep 1997 11:39:09 -0400 Received: from mbox.ualr.edu (mbox.ualr.edu [144.167.10.38]) by = hj.tvol.com (8.8.7/8.8.3) with ESMTP id MAA08741 for = <detomaso@wgate.com>; Wed, 3 Sep 1997 12:43:09 -0400 (EDT) Received: from vn-gateway by UALR.EDU (PMDF V4.2-11 #15587) id <01IN7DQMPJE80000A2@UALR.EDU>; Wed, 3 Sep 1997 11:43:26 CDT Date: Wed, 03 Sep 1997 06:38:00 -0500 From: dave.williams@chaos.lrk.ar.us (Dave Williams) Subject: Re: Slushbox Panteras To: detomaso@wgate.com Message-id: <374122.7.uupcb@chaos.lrk.ar.us> Organization: The Courts of Chaos * Jacksonville AR USA * 501-985-0059 X-Envelope-to: detomaso@wgate.com Content-type: TEXT/PLAIN; CHARSET=3DUS-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Sender: owner-detomaso@wgate.com Precedence: bulk Reply-To: dave.williams@chaos.lrk.ar.us (Dave Williams) ==============================================================================
