Here's a little something I wanted to write after I just talked to the original owner. I was going through my records on my car. I was pretty sure who the original owner was, but only had records with his name dating back to 1984. And the car had 24,000 miles then. I wanted to know if for some reason that could have been 124K miles, and other owners. Well, this guy sure in consistent! He was still at the phone number that was on the 1984 records. We talked about he car for over a half an hour. He did buy the car new in 73' told me the dealer (Beverly Hills Linc. Merc.), and that he always garaged the car (1973 - 1991). And he had only put 29,000 miles on it. I liked to hear that, I thought that was right but it sure is nice to hear it first hand (and he has no reason to lie to me). He told me the day he went down to see what the Pantera was all about they took him for a test ride, and comming down the 405 on a sweeping ramp to the 10 they were doing 105 mph in 3rd, he kept on it into 4th and by the next ramp was doing 145. And guess what? He bought the car! But said he never drove it like that. He told me that all he ever did to the car was replace the radiator. And never had any accidents in it. I thanked him for taking such good care of my car! So, that make me for sure the 3rd owner. And the 2nd owner was Gunner Nelson (Ricky Nelson's son). He bought it from the dealer that the Original owner sold it to (Mayberry Linc. Merc. in Hollywood). Gunner then is the one that did all the upgrades, Hall radiator / stainless pipes & tanks, Edlebrock performer, GTS exhaust, rotary A/C, wood in dash, leather door panels and leather seats from an 80's Pantera. Gunner then was the one to have spent the most money on the car, and he sold it back to the same dealer for less than he bought it for. He only put 2,000 miles on it in the 3 years he had it. I got it at 32,000 miles and in 3 years it now has 51,000 miles! Well, I think this car is meant to be driven!
