I have a shortened shift lever and the slots have been removed from the shift gate. Dennis Quella recommended it way back when I had the car rebuilt and I took him up on the offer. I like it. You can take a look at it at: http://mwd.sugar-land.anadrill.slb.com:8080/zmisc/interior.gif Admittedly, I have gotten my 'pinkie' whacked with it one time when I was being stupid, but you learn fast not to do it again! It hurt! :-))) When I drove another car with the stock shift lever, it took me awhile to realize what the heck was so weird about shifting his car! It was a long shift lever.
