My understanding of the ZF is, they use (under license) Porsche-design synchros made of mild steel. These last much longer than the bronze US type, but when they finally go, you must also replace the mating gear, since the conical synchro cone is part of the gear, and wears out with the steel synchro. But, the ZF synchro is really a 'balk-ring' type synchro, which means it is possible to "beat" the synchro action by shifting too fast. Maybe you only need to modify your shifting style. A long-throw slave cylinder will also help, by making sure the clutch is fully released. Last I heard, a full-bore o'haul was $3500. Good luck!
