All, Read the latest issue of Triumph World last night and there was an article on the Targa Tasmania event (billed as "the ultimate tourist trophy and tarmac rally) held (where else) in the southern Australian island-state of Tasmania. I searched the web and found a really good site which has all sorts of details on the event. I found that there was a yellow 1969 Mangusta driven by Neil Ashmead, navigator Natasha Oberoi. The site is at: www.targa.org.au/1997/main.html. There were 194 cars in all, representing some pretty stiff competition, among others, Tigers, E-Types, Coopers, Falcon GTHO, Alfa GTA, Loti Elan/Espirit Turbo/Elise, Ferrari 365GT/265/3*8, Datsun Sports/240Z/260Z/300ZX, Dodge Challenger, Holden Torana XU1/SLR5000, TVR 3000, Jensen Interceptor, 944/911/930/Tubbos/(most of the entrants!), Dolly Sprint/Stag/TR4/TR7 V8, Mazda RX7, Cobra repro, Corvette, BMW M*, Honda NSX, MGB/F, etc. It was expected to be a clash between Tubbo 911s and Mazda wankers, but a suprize third place was by Marks Parsons and Ojars Balodis in a TR7 V8. The Triumph won on handicap! No results on the 'Goose. Shane Ingate in San Diego ==============================================================================
