Dan,

     I had the same problem a number of years ago.  In my case, the 

headlight switch took a dump.  I would suggest replacing it.

The headlights in my Pantera went out the other night.  As the lights

were popping up, the lights went out and the buckets retracted.  I cranked

them up by hand but they were still dark and as soon as I started the car

the buckets retracted again (I had turned the switch off).  Is this

more likely to be the switch or fuse?  The tail lights and side/front

marker lights remained lit.
