Okay, I'll give you the codes (before every code there is always "thpn"): Month 1971 1972 1973 1974 Jan. LC MB NJ PL Feb. LK MR NU PY Mar. LD MA NM PS Apr. LS MG NP PT May LL MC NB PJ June LY MK NR PU July LS MD NA PM Aug. LT ME NG PP Sept. LJ ML NC PB Oct. LU MY NK PR Nov. LM MS ND PA Dec. LP MT NE PG Please note that the serial numbers do not always seem to correspond exactly to the year and month code, i.e. a car with a lower serial number can in some cases have a later month code than another car with a higher serial number, but these variations are normally only marginal. The reason is probably that the car received the serial number when the production of the car started, but the year and month code when it was ready for delivery. The true age of the car can only be told from the letter code. As a rough rule you can say that in the Ford years De Tomaso built up to about 400 cars a month. That is why I guessed that #2431 must be one or two months "older" than my car (#2869), but only the letters will reveal if my guess is right. By the way, De Tomaso says that T means that the car came from Ghia Operations, H denotes Turin, Italy, and PN is the reference designating the model code and stands for PaNtera. Personally, since T and H do not suggest to mean Ghia or Turin, I prefer the explanation that these letters stand for THe PaNtera.
