        Sorry about not responding to your query about the Allison

ignition.  I posted a response Wednesday that apparently was lost in the

ether.  So here goes again.  The Allison died all at once, no warning,

just started to misfire at 2000rpm.  Thankfully I was only about three

miles from home.  The only time the car ever embarrassed me in public (

its never embarrassed me in private either).  I only had the igniter box,

stock coil.  During the post mortem it was discovered that the pickup in

the distributor had been installed poorly and eventually wore out on the

disk on the distributor shaft, the distributor was full of black plastic

dust when I took the cap off.  It had been on the car I think four or

five years. I hope this is what you wanted to know.  



      Did I write about the very leaky Butfoy rebuilt trans axle I've

got?  I guess I'm getting old and I can't remember what I read or write

anymore.
